Supporting a world-leading life science client to build and refurbish facilities
Our client: a world-leading contract and development organisation partner, specialising in the development and production of biologics, vaccines, cell and gene therapies, and oncolytic viruses.
The client sought to hire positions across a range of high-impact CapEx projects:
- c£400 million greenfield project to create the largest multi-modal biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in the United Kingdom. The site will be a three-storey multi-platform biotech manufacturing facility capable of manufacturing mAbs, mRNA, Viral, Plasmid and Cell & Gene Therapy products. The facility will be designed, constructed and qualified for GMP manufacturing operations.
- c£80 million greenfield four-storey modern laboratory space housing the Quality Control and Process Development teams.
- New facility introduction which is now cGMP operational for manufacturing of viral gene therapies, oncolytic viruses and viral vaccines for clinical trials
- Refurbishment of 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art cell culture Process Development Laboratories
- c£80 million expansion to existing facility to expand the microbial production capacity. The expansion included a new production line equipped with 2 X 2000L fermenters and a modular purification suite. The utilities at the facility were upgraded to accommodate for high volume production.
