Job Title: Civil Construction Superintendent
Start Date: January 2025
Contract: 12 months (renewable)
Location: Paris (approximately 4-5 months), Teesside (on-site)
Project: CCSU and Hydrogen Project
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead the civil foundation aspects of our CCSU and Hydrogen project. The role will commence in January 2025, with an initial period of approximately 4-5 months based in Paris, followed by on-site responsibilities in Teesside. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing subcontractors, developing and implementing civil construction procedures, and a strong background in civil foundations within the oil & gas or chemical industries.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all civil foundation activities for the CCSU and Hydrogen project.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
  • Develop, implement, and refine civil construction procedures to optimize efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil construction, with a focus on foundations.
  • Proven experience in the oil & gas or chemical industries.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel and spend significant time on-site in Teesside.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with CCSU and hydrogen projects.
  • Familiarity with French and UK construction regulations and standards.
  • Fluency in French and English.
