We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team on Lihir Island. You will play a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of complex civil works across site infrastructure and underground operations.

Working closely with supervisors, surveyors, and other engineering teams, your contribution will directly impact project success and operational efficiency.

πŸ” Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct effective shift handovers and provide ongoing technical support throughout the shift

  • Lead daily pre-start meetings with civil, shotcrete, steel fixing, and rock bolting teams

  • Review and manage SRs (Site Requests) in coordination with supervisors and ensure changes are communicated clearly between shifts

  • Maintain and update Material Take-Offs (MTO) and provide accurate 8-week forecasts for batch plant materials

  • Update and manage shop drawings, ensuring alignment with the latest anchor schedules

  • Oversee PSJV yard operations, including daily production records, inspections, and logistics coordination

  • Lead preparation and installation of civil works including rock bolts, cages, spacers, and grout tubes

  • Ensure proper delivery and storage of materials on-site and escalate issues when necessary

  • Coordinate all survey hold points and assist with rock bolt markings

  • Support QA/QC teams with SOP implementation and punch list closure

  • Assist with anchor team activities including Devi-Gyro surveys and Devi aligner support

  • Proactively manage resources, support supervisors, and identify risks or breakdown scenarios to keep work progressing

βœ… What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in heavy civil or mining infrastructure projects

  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills

  • Familiarity with underground works, shotcrete, rock bolting, and structural steel fixing

  • Highly organised with excellent reporting and forecasting abilities

  • Competent in using Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD (or equivalent drafting tools)

  • Previous experience in remote or FIFO roles (desirable)
