MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the planning and execution of the project commissioning and handover plan to operations. Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the project’s goals, objectives, and procedures. Assures accurate and timely communication among the Project Team and Company Functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues. In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. This individual will play a key role in delivering the implementation and ownership of company’s Guidance on Certification (GOC) process.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to all of the Level 1 and Level 2 tasks and responsibilities, a Level 3 Commissioning Engineer will: • Act as a role model to promote a robust health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) culture in the project community • Work with engineering contractors to ensure that they understand and perform the required integration of the system breakdown into engineering work packages • Ensure that engineering contractors develop handover testing documentation • Ensure that off-site fabrication sites understand and perform all requirements for testing and documentation • Ensure that on-site construction management teams and construction and functional checkout contractors understand and perform GOC requirements for testing, documentation and turnover • Participate in engineering package reviews of projects and provide constructive input to the design team • Assist project leaders and construction engineers with preparing cost estimates and schedules • Work with on-site construction management teams to ensure that the contractor and operations have the required resources to complete the checkout and commissioning in a timely and cost-effective manner • Anticipate and resolve problems encountered in the field to eliminate costly rework or retesting

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS • Previous experience in a closely related position • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline • Demonstrated track record for health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) leadership and delivery • Knowledge of commissioning turnover systems • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Broad and extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
