Construction Service Marine Specialist
Construction Service Marine Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing marine management procedures to support the offshore wind projects. The role requires a strong understanding of UK maritime regulations, offshore logistics, and marine coordination, ensuring that all marine operations align with UK and international standards. The specialist will play a critical role in defining vessel strategies, ensuring compliance with The Crown Estate requirements, Marine Management Organisation (MMO) regulations, and industry best practices.

Construction Service Marine Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing marine management procedures to support the offshore wind projects. The role requires a strong understanding of UK maritime regulations, offshore logistics, and marine coordination, ensuring that all marine operations align with UK and international standards. The specialist will play a critical role in defining vessel strategies, ensuring compliance with The Crown Estate requirements, Marine Management Organisation (MMO) regulations, and industry best practices.
Responsibilties
- Develop and implement marine management procedures, including vessel coordination, offshore logistics, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with UK maritime regulations, including those set by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), Marine Management Organisation (MMO), The Crown Estate, UK Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ), and Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
- Develop a Marine Coordination Plan for offshore construction and operations, covering vessel tracking, exclusion zones, offshore communications, and emergency response.
- Vessel Selection & Chartering: Define vessel specifications for offshore wind farm operations, conduct vessel suitability assessments, and support vessel procurement.
- Marine Traffic & Navigation Risk Management: Conduct navigational risk assessments (NRAs) and ensure compliance with UK marine traffic regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with port authorities, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), fisheries representatives, offshore contractors, and environmental agencies.
- Innovative Marine Solutions: Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce carbon footprint, and integrate emerging marine technologies.
Experience needed
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in offshore wind (preferred), marine coordination, or offshore oil & gas marine operations. Preferabably offshore wind experience
- Proactive safety mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks before they escalate
- Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
- Strong understanding of marine logistics, vessel coordination, and offshore wind farm construction methods
- Experience working in an international environment, engaging with multinational teams and global stakeholders
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills, able to navigate complex marine operational challenges in dynamic offshore conditions
- Knowledge of Marine Coordination software
- Strong knowledge of UK maritime regulations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
