Department: This role will be reporting into the Maintenance & Engineering team.
The control systems engineer shall report to Instrument & Control Team Lead and will be an integral member of a multi-discipline Engineering Department.
Responsibilities shall include:
- Provide technical control and safety system engineering support to client departments in the execution of brownfield and greenfield development projects, construction, operations and maintenance groups.
- Participate in conceptual, basic, and detailed design activities.
- Provide assurance on engineering compliance against pertinent standards, specifications, codes and regulations. Ensure that non-conformities and deviations are identified, risk assessed and mitigated.
- Provide response to engineering and site queries in line with client specifications and best engineering practices.
- Provide technical input to client management of change process. Carry out site surveys. Produce design and instrument, control and safety system work pack deliverables. Contents to include scopes of work, design/construction drawings, design calculations, system architecture, network configuration, control narrative, software design specification, HMI specification, alarm configuration, system I/O allocation, MTOs, task hazard assessments.
- Provide support to develop and execute strategies to upgrade and expand existing control /safety systems.
- Review and approve third-party engineering deliverables.
- Produce material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, interfacing with vendors via procurement department
- Provide support to activity planning and progress reporting.
- Liaise and work closely with client instrument technical authority for guidance as necessary
- Attend system testing, FAT, SAT and conduct technical audit/verification
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Control /Electronics engineering
- 15+ years relevant experience in control and safety system engineering, including the design and operation of processing systems in the oil and gas industry.
- Functonal safety certified from TUV/Exida or similar organization.
- Experience in onshore operations, emerging areas / multicultural environments. Relevant experience in successive roles includes problem analysis, solution proposal, related working procedure draft and implementation.
- Experience of engineering role in detailed engineering design, procurement, construction and commissioning of PLC, DCS, ESD, FGS, RTU, SCADA, HMI and Historian.
- Sound knowledge on system topology and control networks RS232/485/422, Modbus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, SafetyNet, Control Net, DH+ etc and network security.
- Experience on digital/smart oil field instrumentation and network.
- Hands on experience on Emerson Delta-V ICSS and Alen Bradley Control logix.
- Candidate to demonstrate familiarity with all relevant industry codes, standards, and practices (IEC, IEEE, ISA, API, ISO), for instrumentation & control systems.
- Candidate to demonstrate good presentation and effective interdisciplinary communication skills, capability of communication with all levels, manages with different cultural background.
