We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Analyst to support cost control and financial analysis within the Facilities Engineering organization. This role is responsible for tracking multiple projects, ensuring effective cost monitoring, and providing insightful financial reporting to project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost control within the Oil & Gas industry, specifically in Construction or Operations (Gulf of Mexico preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Control & Financial Analysis
Track and analyze costs across multiple projects within the Facilities Engineering organization.
Interface with Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure accurate cost monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
Provide day-to-day monitoring and analysis of project budgets and actuals to maintain financial accuracy.
Conduct detailed invoice reviews to verify accuracy and alignment with project budgets.
Perform scenario analysis and prepare financial presentations as requested by management.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
Assist in the development of project cost estimates and benchmarking data.
Generate regular cost reports highlighting key financial metrics, cost variances, and trends.
Prepare monthly variance analyses for budget, Value of Work Done (VOWD), and forecast.
Perform monthly updates to the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) Project Forecast models.
Review project scope changes to ensure adequate budget allocation.
Regularly align vendor forecasts with cost models.
Collaborate with the scheduling team to maintain an integrated cost-schedule project plan.
Additional Support & Compliance
Support ad hoc projects and cost control initiatives as required.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and reporting deadlines.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict monthly reporting deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Construction, Business, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of cost control experience in Construction or Operations within the Oil & Gas industry (Gulf of Mexico preferred).
Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
Broad knowledge of project controls in Planning and Cost Control.
Ability to integrate and coordinate tasks across multidisciplinary teams.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written).
Self-starter, detail-oriented, team player, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Contruent (Prism) cost management tool.
Experience with SAP Financials and Materials Management modules.
