Data Architecture Manager requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, & database design, data modeling, with expertise in both SQL & NoSQL technologies. Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), big data technologies, & data integration/ETL tools. Familiarity with data quality tools & modern tech stacks (e.g., Spark, Kafka, AngularJS, ElasticSearch). Strong expertise in on-prem & cloud-based data technologies & big data platforms. Leadership experience, with a track record of managing & mentoring technical teams across multiple locations & coming from different cultural backgrounds. Proven track record of driving large-scale data initiatives. Proficient in data governance, data quality management, & data security best practices. Understanding & driving outcomes & value-based data activities. Experience with data lifecycle management, incl. data standardization, observability, & auditing. Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, & compliance (GDPR, CCPA). Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau. Knowledge of machine learning & AI technologies is a plus.

Data Architect Manager responsibilities

Data Architecture Design & Development: Design & implement complex, scalable data architectures that meet business needs. Develop & maintain data models & database designs, focusing on reliability, efficiency, & future growth. Architect & develop integrated data quality applications from the ground up using modern technology stacks such as Spark, Scala, ElasticSearch, AngularJS, Kibana, Kafka, & NiFi. Design & implement scalable & interoperable data architectures across cloud & hybrid environments (AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud). Strong knowledge & experience with implementation of Microsoft tech stack. Develop & maintain robust data models, database designs, & ETL processes while ensuring data quality & security across all solutions. Lead the design, development, & maintenance of data pipelines, supporting both batch & streaming data architectures. Data Quality & Security: Collaborate with Data Governance, Master Data Management & Cyber Security Teams to establish & enforce best practices for data governance, ensuring high data quality, security, & compliance with relevant regulations.

Data Pipeline Management: - Oversee the design, construction, & maintenance of robust data pipelines ensuring efficient data flow for both batch & streaming data processing platforms. Design, implement & deliver data ingestion & transformation to enable easy data consumption by the business & reduce time-to-consume by implementing efficient tech data solutions. Oversee the design & implementation of data development tools using i.e. Python. Strategic Reporting: Oversee digitization, simplification & automation of strategic reporting processes throughout my client’s Product Lifecycle Management.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: - Partner with Group IT, the Data Governance, Master Data Management, Portfolio Management Teams, & other business units to define the technology stack for lifecycle data management. Collaborate with the key leads within Information Technology organisation, & various business units to ensure data architecture supports product lifecycle management & reporting automation efforts. Work closely with data governance, master data management, data scientists, data engineers, business analysts, product & data owners, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure data architecture aligns with business objectives & enhances decision-making processes.
 
Team Leadership & Mentorship: - Lead & mentor a global team of data engineers, architects, & developers, fostering a culture of innovation & professional growth. Mentor team members on best practices in software engineering, data quality, product evaluation, & technical design. Provide guidance, & career development opportunities to team members. Conduct performance reviews, track team effectiveness, & collect operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
 
Data Product Management & Lifecycle Oversight: - Support overseeing end-to-end lifecycle data management from project win, execution, & operation to decommissioning. Execute strategy & own KPIs for assigned data products, working with business & consumer teams to ensure the success of the data product line. Drive automation of strategic reporting & support the data platform creation to meet internal & external client demands. Ensure creation & maintain documentation for data architecture, data lifecycle processes, & data solutions. Ownership of data delivery activities for Digital & Data Projects & Major IT Change Initiatives

Desirable Certifications: MS Azure, DevOps, AWS, PMP, PMI, ITIL, or data architecture-related certifications are highly desirable.
