NES Fircroft have partnered with a leading global renewable energy business specialising in energy wind, solar and energy storage solutions to drive innovation and sustainability within the industry.
We are seeking a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to develop innovative solutions for complex business challenges. This role requires working closely with stakeholders and experienced practitioners to understand business needs, gather and preprocess data, and design and deploy predictive models. The position will commence on an initial 6 month contract with view to extend.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong Python skills who are either experienced in machine learning or eager to learn and grow in the field. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to collaborate effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and understand business challenges.
- Gather, clean, and preprocess data for analysis and model development.
- Build, evaluate, and deploy predictive models using appropriate methodologies.
- Assess model performance and optimize results.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement machine learning solutions.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing and continuous learning initiatives.
- Engage with international-based colleagues for a few hours weekly (6-8 PM).
- Strong proficiency in Python is essential.
- Experience in machine learning model development is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
