NES Fircroft are delighted to represent the new role of Drilling HSE Advisor for one of our client's based in Hassi Messaoud in Algeria.

The selected candidate will be working in the HSE department and support the HSE culture in the drilling community. 

This role is rotational on a 28/28 schedule and offers a competitive day rate, alongside providing flights and accommodation.

To effectively support well delivery operations on the implementation of HSE management systems for drilling and well services operations on the rig and rigless locations. Develop drilling HSE standards and implementation of HSE plan and provide HSE oversight on drilling contractors to ensure contractor HSE compliance. This position will support the growth of enhancing safety standards with a key deliverable of mentoring and coaching nationals in progressive HSE roles.

Responsibilities
  • Provide HSE leadership, advice, guidance, and support on all drilling and well services operations on rig and rigless locations
  • Develop drilling and well services operations HSE manuals and procedures
  • Conduct HSE trainings related to PTW. Risk Assessment, HSE Auditing and Safety Observation processes.
  • Train, coach and develop personnel in HSE to influence on HSE culture by spreading awareness, education to the staft.
  • Develop HSE KPI’s, HSE training needs, for DRL/WS teams and operations
  • Develop HSE improvement plan for DRL/WS and benchmarking
  • To manage and promote HSE during Drilling operations by Contractor
  • Provision of HSE technical support and advice in the operational areas in order to improve HSE performance
  • Provide technical problem solving, risk management, accident prevention, environmental awareness to the operational supervisors
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions by participation in accident & incident investigation
  • Advice on the development of HSE plans and coordinate the implementation to prevent damage, through safety innovation
  • Conduct HSE inspections in order to identify areas of improvement and best practices
  • Execution of all HSE audits and inspections with follow up on open actions
  • Conduct and participate in camp health and hygiene inspections

Requirements (Education required, background, experience, skills)
  • Minimum NEBOSH certificate qualification with 10+ years proven experience in a HSE capacity within the Oil & Gas industry. 
  • Qualified by a recognized HSE training body such as (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).  
  • Trained in accident/incident investigation system such as TapRoot
  • Have knowledge in contractor technical evaluation in terms of HSE compliance during tendering
  • Knowledge and experience of SIMOPS, energy isolations and PTW systems
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching nationals in progressive HSE roles
