Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join an engineering team at a leading production site in Rotterdam. This position focuses on ensuring optimal performance and long-term reliability of electrical systems and equipment within an industrial environment.
You will take ownership of preventive maintenance strategies, ensure compliance with industry standards and legislation, and play a key role in identifying technical improvements and resolving complex reliability issues.
What You’ll Do:

• Develop, revise, and maintain preventive maintenance plans in line with legal requirements and site-specific standards
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities
• Draft repair scopes and support execution planning
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to preserve equipment functionality and support modifications
• Lead or support root cause investigations into system failures and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure the maintenance system reflects current regulations
• Act as the point of contact for planners and operations regarding electrical maintenance issues
• Propose and support minor design changes or upgrades (MOC) within your discipline
• Provide training or guidance to maintenance and operational teams
• Contribute to keeping internal technical standards up to date for the electrical scope

Ideal Profile:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Bachelor’s or Master’s level)
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a process industry environment (e.g. chemical plant, refinery, energy sector)
• Familiarity with standards such as NEN, IEC, API, or IEEE
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on mindset
• Comfortable working across disciplines and communicating with both operational teams and engineering departments
• Interest in professional growth and adapting to new technologies and working methods
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is highly preferred
• High awareness of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
