The Field Artificial Lift Technologist/Specialist is primarily responsible for the optimization of well production & performance while interfacing with field operations, Integrated Control Central (IOC) and field engineering teams. The Field Artificial Lift Technologist/Specialist will also advise & mentor on well and artificial lift design and when required may interface with facilities to contribute to the technical and functional operation of wells. All aspects of the position will focus on delivering Safe, Reliable & Optimized operation while practicing and actively promoting facts & data driven decision making culture.  

Skills and Competencies
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in Engineering or Operational role.
  • Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety & environmental principles & practices.
  • Broad knowledge & use of this knowledge to assist operational teams.
  • Demonstrated a high level of communication, organization & analytical skill.
  • Uses a communication approach that is diplomatic & appropriate to the situation.
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing external & internal requirements by adjusting current & developing new business practices.
  • Possesses knowledge in economics, financial reporting, controls & ethical practices.
  • Proficient with business tools & processes. 

Safety
  • Ensure D60 flaring and all other directives, regulations and IRPs are adhered to.
  • Provide technical support for Management of Change (MOC) and safety in artificial lift design.
Operational and Technical
  • Maximizing production through optimization of wells and facilities, facilitate KPIs for equipment performance such as pumps, plungers, timers, logic and injection systems.
  • Manage and track the fluid management and optimization program for Whitecourt Area.
  • Attend and advise on gas lift quarterly, bi-weekly technical team sessions in the greater NW Alberta operating area.
  • Ensuring clear communication of optimization opportunities with IOC and field operations.
  • Analyze data to make appropriate recommendations for cost effective solutions.
  • Advise Field Operations Engineer/Technologist on artificial design implementations.
