Summary:
The size and complexity of the project requires a mechanically oriented field engineer to manage and answer day to day construction questions from the contractors and interface with PM, Planners, SME’s and Consulting Engineers to address RFI’s.

The field Engineer shall provide coordination, guidance and support to the Contractors and Project Team. The Field Engineer shall ensure contractor compliance with construction specifications and detailed design drawings and ISO’s.

Duties:
 
  • Coordinate daily with Project Manager, Project Planners and SME’s in identification of and resolution to issues uncovered during construction.
  • Prepare responses to RFI’s from the contractors, with assistance from the PM, Planners and Stakeholders. Issues requiring input from the Engineer of Record will be submitted to B&V, after approval from PM.
  • Monitor construction activities throughout the day and walk down completed systems with Contractor QA/QC.
  • Serve as Project QA/QC and respond to issues and concerns identified during planning and execution of the work.
  • Do final walkdown and signoff with Contractor QC and Operations.
  • Coordinate with Contract Monitors when and if needed.
  • Witness hydrotesting, system flushes, ITP hold points and bolt ups.
  • Ensure that all welding x-rays are approved by SME.
  • Witness final alignment of rotating equipment and have SME sign off on required documentation.
 


Qualifications:
 
  • While engineering degree is preferred, 20 plus years’ experience will suffice.
  • 20 Plus years mechanical piping construction experience in the petro-chemical industry.
  • Construction management and field engineering experience.
  • Experienced with commissioning and start up activities to include NDE and hydrotesting.
  • Capable of performing quality inspections of process piping installations and verification that piping systems were fabricated and installed in accordance with design drawings.
  • Strong background with standard pipe specs and pipe fitting techniques.
