The Downstream Chemicals team leverages this experience to provide best-in-class support to improve water and process treatment applications within the refineries where we operate.

As a Field Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting day to day operations of a specialty chemicals service account within a refinery. Under general supervision and with safety in mind, the Field Operations Specialist will be conducting routine chemical analysis and services to ensure conformance to key chemical treatment parameters, while supporting the operation of a centrifuge/decanter unit.
As a Field Operations Specialist, you are responsible for:
• Operate and monitor performance of a centrifuge unit
• Pull and collect crude and water samples
• Basic laboratory testing
• Document, submit and communicate lab results
• Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems, completing repairs and refurbishments as necessary
• Manage chemical usages and inventories
• Escort and assist with chemical deliveries
• Upon training, send out weekly service reports with recommendations for improvement
• Build strong relationships with key customers
• Work safely and within customer and Baker Hughes safety guidelines
• Communicates results to supervisor in a detailed manner.
• Handles special projects, as assigned.

To be successful in this role you will:
• Experience in hydrocarbon process treatment or water treatment for waste water, boilers, and cooling towers preferred
• Solid understanding of industrial chemical treatment technology
• Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting skills
• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
• Experience working in refinery environments or heavy industry/manufacturing environments
• Have strong communication skills to work closely with a team of professionals to support our customers
• Strong preference to have previous experience operating heavy equipment and centrifuge/decanter units in waste water operations
