Our client is actively seeking an HR Data Governance Lead to manage organization-wide HR Data goverenance activities reglated to HR data. This individual will have the responsability of improving the quality, management and overall protection of sensitive data and information assets. This is a full-time, long term opportunity with a leader in industrial energy sources of their Allentown, PA location. 

Key Responsibilities:

Create Records of Processing: Develop and maintain comprehensive records of data processing activities within the HR function to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Implement Data Retention Criteria: Establish and enforce data retention policies and criteria in Workday and EDL (Enterprise Data Lake) to ensure data is stored and disposed of in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.

Improve Data Quality: Identify and address data quality issues, implement data quality improvement initiatives, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR data.

Data Governance Framework: Assist in the development and implementation of a data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards for data management within HR.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with HR, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure data governance practices are aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to HR staff on data governance policies and best practices.

 Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in managing projects for data governance, data management, or a similar role, preferably within an HR environment.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data protection regulations, and data quality management and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of the technology landscape. Even better if it includes data platforms, warehouses and BI Analytics in general
  • Very comfortable collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders in multiple disciplines, levels, and organizations, to manage deliver change.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex organization.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Data Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Data governance or data management certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) are highly desirable.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification or similar, a distinct advantage.
