We are currently recruiting 2 HSE Advisers for Woodsides Projects Australia Team. This will be a Perth based role with ad-hoc travel to onshore and offshore sites and assets (for periods of up to 3 weeks at a time). In this role, the successful candidate will report to the Project Health & Safety Team Leader. 

Project Australia Overview
Projects Australia delivers a range of small to medium-sized onshore and offshore projects spanning infill, asset life extension through to asset and field decommissioning. We currently have a significant portfolio of offshore projects entering execute phase.   

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring Health and Safety activities are carried out in best interests of the Company and enabling Contractors to deliver the Works;
  • Providing risk-based leadership, guidance, governance and coordination of Company Health and Safety activities;
  • Assuring, verifying and influencing Contractor’s work product and practices to ensure conformance and compliance to approved plans;
  • Supporting and enabling Contractor to meet requirements of Asset Safety Report, Procedures and Contract requirements;
  • Liaising with Contractors team to support understanding of interfaces, expectations and requirements.
  • Providing support to the Project team for implementation of Company HSE Management requirements and Verification Plan activities;
  • Leading Company training and awareness programs as required;
  • Supporting and coordinating Company led Health and Safety activities; 
  • Supporting and demonstrating a ‘One Team’ Project culture and positive team climate;
  • Management of Company event reporting system for all Project related events, investigation findings and actions;
  • Monitoring Contractors plans and work activities to ensure risk management processes have been effectively applied;
  • Participating in Contractor led Health and Safety activities, providing insights and support as required;
  • Providing technical Health and Safety advice and support to the Company Project team;
  • Participating in incident investigations and ‘root cause’ analysis
Skills & Experience:
  • Diploma or above in Occupational Health & Safety or relatable field.
  • 10+ years working in HSE within oil and gas and/or construction industry.
  • A thorough understanding of all relevant WA Health and Safety Legislation and Safety Case regime.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders.
  • Site-based construction (offshore) experience in Australia.
  • Candidates MUST have Tbosiet and MSIC.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
  • Previous experience with working with an EPCM contractor.
  • Experience working in a Decommissioning/Brownfields environment.
  • Process Safety knowledge and experience.
