Role Synopsis:
The Information Assessment Analyst is responsible for the collection, analysis, and effective dissemination of security information to support business operations. To achieve this, you will be responsible for maintaining an effective information collection network, managing the activities of the Security Liaison Officer, and the generation of a range reports to alert key personnel. In order to support an intelligence-led decision-making process, the Information Assessment Analyst is to ensure that the Country Security Manager, together with relevant security operations managers and other key personnel, are effectively informed of relevant threats to security and business activity in Northern Iraq.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Collection, analysis, and effective dissemination of relevant security information to support an intelligence led decision making process.
  • Work closely with Security Operations Manager, and contracted security providers, to ensure journey management plans and activities are calibrated in response to relevant threat information.
  • Maintenance of regular and ad hoc cycle of thematic and routine reports to monitor current security trends and issues.
  • Management of information databases to ensure long term trends of security activity can be effectively monitored and presented.
  • Maintenance, and periodic review, of key risk assessments to support long term security policy and business objectives.
  • Ensuring relevant threat information is communicated to CSM-I and relevant security managers in a timely manner together with broader support to leadership and other areas of the business.
  • Effective management of an information collection network to include a dynamic network of contacts within the Iraqi and expatriate community.
  • Daily verbal presentation of relevant security information to KK Departmental Leadership Team.
  • Effective liaison with Communications and External Affairs department to ascertain relevant community activity and its impact on security.
  • Continued development of relationship with North Oil Company (NOC) Follow Up Section, in conjunction with NOC Security Manager, to gather information on security activity within the contract area.
  • To operate in conjunction with, and provide support to, the wider Iraq Analysis Team. This includes coverage of Iraq wide activity when required

Key Challenges:  
  • Maintenance and continual adjustment of an effective contact network to collect relevant threat information.
  • Remaining proactive in the identification of potential security threats to business activity and the representation of this information in written reports and presentations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of activity in Northern Iraq how this could impact operations.
  • Maintain an understanding of wider security and political information and events in wider Iraq and how they impact on the O and G sector.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of Iraqi and Arabic culture and key social activity to effectively manage information collection activity and local contact network.
  • To brief Hostile Environment Training (HET) courses with up to date and relevant security context as part of both Foundation and Refresher HET courses. 

Criteria:
  • Previous experience in an analytical environment supporting real time operational activity.
  • Excellent written and analytical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of diligence, initiative and accuracy with limited supervision.
  • Ability to draft detailed and accurate reports.
  • Excellent presentational skills and confident public speaking.
  • Willingness and ability to understand local cultural sensitivities, particularly in information collection.
  • Ability to manage and direct Iraqi nationals.
  • Previous Oil and Gas security operations experience or similar environment is preferable.
  • Long term experience of working within an analytical environment in Iraq, preferably Kirkuk area.
