Infrastructure Technical Team Lead – 12 Months Contract – Iraq

Essential:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications: MCSA / MCSE / MCITP / MCE/ MCA (server-focused), Azure Solutions Architect Expert. 10+ years in IT, including a Technical Team Lead role. Experience in infrastructure planning, design, or architecture, with a focus on scalability & security. Enterprise architecture, scalability, & infrastructure design best practices. Data center operations & hyperconverged technologies. Virtualization (HCI, VMware, KVM, HyperV) & storage technologies (FC, SAN, NAS, DAS, iSCSI). SQL setup, administration, & clustering, especially in dense environments. Office 365 suite & system security best practices. Hybrid cloud setup, administration, & management (Azure, Azure Stack, ASR, AFS, Azure AD, ExpressRoute, Intune, Automation). Microsoft Exchange configuration (On-Premise, Online, Hybrid) & migration strategies. Windows OS management for both servers & virtualized infrastructure. Remote & secure working technologies (AVD, RDS, Citrix, WVD) with modern profile Management.
Role Synopsis
The Infrastructure Technical Team Lead oversees the design, deployment, & management of critical IT&C infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, scalability, & security in support of organizational objectives. This role manages day-to-day operations, complex projects, & a team of engineers to monitor & optimize infrastructure performance, resolve escalated issues, & implement backup & disaster recovery strategies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Systems Technical Lead aligns infrastructure with business goals, ensures regulatory compliance, & optimizes vendor relationships for service efficiency. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, & strategic vision with a focus on digital transformation. A deep understanding of infrastructure design principles is essential, emphasizing scalable, secure, & forward-looking solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Infrastructure Technical Team Lead key accountabilities
- Lead the design, deployment, & maintenance of IT&C infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, & architected to meet current & future business needs.
- Develop roadmaps that incorporate digital transformation & cloud strategies, aligning these roadmaps with business & IT&C strategy
- Oversee continuous system monitoring, capacity planning, & performance optimization to maintain high availability & efficiency of IT&C infrastructure.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, guiding the team in incident resolution, root cause analysis, & proactive problem management.
- Implement & maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, & security strategies, ensuring resilience & compliance with organizational standards.
- Lead & mentor a team of engineers, fostering skill development, encouraging best practices, & ensuring alignment with technical goals.
- Manage infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, tracking progress, reporting on project & incident statuses, & meeting performance metrics.
- Ensure all systems & processes meet regulatory & compliance requirements, proactively identifying & mitigating risks to service delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships & contracts to ensure optimal service levels & cost efficiency, maximizing value from infrastructure service agreements.
- Develop & maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, procedures, & best practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Architect hybrid solutions to integrate on-premise & cloud environments, facilitating interoperability & seamless adoption of future cloud services
- Manage resource allocation & optimize system configurations to meet evolving organizational needs & maximize infrastructure performance.
- Identify opportunities for technology upgrades & improvements, piloting innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure capabilities & support organizational growth
