Our client is actively seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team out of their facility in Annandale, NJ! This individual will be in direct support of lab superviors and chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis and wet chemistry on product and in-process samples. This candidate will play a crucial role in supporting plant operations, ensuring quality assruance and control, and generating accurate data in compliance with standard operating procedures. This is a full-time, contract opportunity with a global crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company! 

Job Summary:
 

The position requires a skilled individual who can utilize analytical instruments, prepare chemical solutions and reagents, and maintain test equipment. This role will receive direction and support but also requires the ability to work with moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory analysis and wet chemistry on product and in-process samples.
  • Support plant operations by ensuring quality assurance and control in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Calibrate and maintain test equipment, ensuring equipment functionality and accuracy.
  • Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Utilize analytical instruments to address quality control/assurance issues.
  • Prepare chemical stock solutions, reagents, and set preparation standards for lab tests.
  • Record accurate data and generate detailed reports in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting any issues with laboratory processes or equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with lab supervisors, chemists, and other team members to meet quality and operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards during all laboratory activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Polytechnic graduate with a background in Chemical, Process, or Technical Engineering.
  • Computer-literate with proficiency in using lab software and instruments.
  • Preferably experienced in quality control systems and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
Scope of Work:
  • Under minimal supervision, perform advanced scientific experiments to obtain reliable data.
  • Understand and contribute to broad research objectives related to oil and gas production and conversion.
  • Support the development and implementation of low-carbon energy transition technologies.
  • Contribute to laboratory efforts aimed at achieving high-quality and sustainable outcomes for the organization.
