JOB OBJECTIVES (SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE) Responsible for the organization and overall operations of the Mechanical section in the Mechanical Engineering department of the EPC Engineering division within Safety, Quality, on Schedule, and budgetary targets set to support achieving overall department goals. Deliver operational requirements for all department activities, including tendering, projects, and other assignments as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Policies, Processes & Procedures:
- Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, providing instructions to subordinates and monitoring their adherence to ensure work is carried out in a controlled manner.
- Ensure employees follow information security rules and data protection measures to safeguard company information and intellectual property.
- Assume sole responsibility for assigned Mechanical Equipment engineering work scopes.
- Carry out Mechanical Equipment discipline work within a project team, supporting the field development of oil & gas production facilities and renewable energy projects.
- Plan, budget, organize, and control Mechanical Equipment engineering deliverables for the project.
- Prepare Mechanical Equipment deliverables for all project phases in the oil & gas and renewable energy industries.
- Ensure that all work is completed without compromising quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
- Provide direction and guidance on all Mechanical Equipment engineering technical queries raised by internal or external parties.
- Liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
- Promote safe behavior at all times and demonstrate Safety Leadership.
- Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a range of technical challenges within the discipline.
- Coordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design, development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
- Assist in the coordination of Mechanical Equipment engineering design activities.
- Identify and monitor risks and implement mitigating actions where possible.
- Record lessons learned from previous contracts to apply improvements in future projects.
- Plan and maintain manpower and resources for smooth operations of the Mechanical Equipment team in project and tender execution.
- Estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
- Conduct engineering audits, risk assessments, and training as required.
- Prepare and review engineering studies, design drawings, and documents.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the activities assigned to Mechanical Equipment discipline subordinates to ensure compliance with department and project requirements.
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed to contribute to the continuous operations of the department.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices.
- Implement international best practices to improve business operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Prepare departmental and project reports accurately and on time to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.
- Provide weekly updates on discipline progress as required by internal and project reporting standards.
- Comply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a safe work environment.
- Actively participate in training and safety initiatives implemented by the company.
- Immediately report any incidents or potential hazards to the Supervisor or Safety Department.
- Stop any task if there is a risk of harm to self or others.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.
- Encourage a positive safety culture within the workforce.
- Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Excellent technical writing and report documentation skills.
- Fully trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
- Broad technical knowledge of Mechanical Equipment sizing and package integration in FPSO, marine, and offshore platforms.
- Strong experience in Mechanical Equipment installation and commissioning.
- Familiarity with International Codes and Standards such as API 610, API 617, API 674, API 675, API 682, etc.
- Strong background in resolving technical issues during project planning and EPC execution phases.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Strong experience in 2GW projects in European Offshore Substation projects.
- Expertise in project management, planning, and cost estimation.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.

- Navigating diverse project scopes across offshore renewables, FPSO, and fixed facilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience in design office or EPC for FPSO/FSO/FPU/MOPU projects.
- Experience in FEED design, FEED Verification, and Detail Engineering for Mechanical Equipment.
- Hands-on experience in all types of pumps, compressors, EDGs, gas/steam turbines, fans, and instrument air compressor packages.
- Successfully delivered at least one mega project as Lead in the design stage.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Project management experience in high-value projects.
- Experience in FPSO projects.
- Familiarity with working in multi-national, multi-cultural project teams.
- PMP Certification (preferred).
- Membership in a recognized professional institute (preferred).
