NES Fircroft Permanent Placement division is looking for a Manager – Mechanical & HVAC Engineer to be based in Dubai.
Our client is a UAE leading provider of marine and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors.
Your role:
Responsible for Basic and Detail Engineering for Mechanical & HVAC systems, Package Engineering for Rotating and Static Equipment and follow on Production Engineering for Marine and Offshore Engineering Projects.

Your role:
Responsible for Basic and Detail Engineering for Mechanical & HVAC systems, Package Engineering for Rotating and Static Equipment and follow on Production Engineering for Marine and Offshore Engineering Projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties. Perform sensitive and confidential administrative and secretarial support activities as directed by Manager.
- Coordinating work between Production Control and Production Departments. Preparation of Manpower charts. Hiring of Subcontracted equipments/services.
- Manage package management and related activities through the completion of the package life cycle.
- Prepare and develop Technical Specifications, Datasheets, and Requisitions for Quotations (RFQ) for various Equipment Packages, including high-value packages.
- Select and implement design for equipment packages based on criticality rating.
- Conduct regular technical meetings with applicable PRE’s, disciplines, vendors, trades, and procurement.
- Develop various Mechanical & HVAC engineering deliverables and collaborate with engineers, designers, and project management to align project milestones.
- Align equipment package design requirements for common systems over the battery limits between interface scopes.
- Implement HAZID / HAZOP requirements for selected equipment packages.
- Implement constructability requirements based on installation criticality.
- Liaise with the mechanical workshop and other construction departments to resolve site issues during equipment package installation.
- Responsible for complying with relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls and to behave in a manner, which ensures that their actions or omissions, do not adversely affect the environment, health, safety and wellbeing of themselves, colleagues, contractors or members of the public.
- Meeting all responsibilities as outlined in the client OHSMS.
- Participating in any training and safety initiatives implemented by the Company.
- Complying with all Safety directives, and work instructions.
- Immediately reporting any incident or potential hazard to their Supervisor or Safety Dept.
- STOP the task if you feel yourself or others may be harmed.
- Ensuring that all work is properly planned, communicated and executed safely.
- Advise workers on potential Health and Safety hazards and there controls.
- Conducting regular inspections of work areas to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.
- Reporting to Line Manager / Safety Inspector promptly regarding incidents, hazards, unsafe plant, equipment or other safety concerns.
- STOP any worker performing an unsafe act and reinforce positive attitude amongst work force.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Prepare structural section related reports on time and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.
- Prepare progress report and track records of related discipline project engineering deliverables and indicate/highlight
- Fluent knowledge of English Language.
- Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
- Good technical competency and ability to generate reports.
- Technical knowledge of equipment packages (e.g., GTGs, compressors, pumps, generators, propulsion machinery).
- Expertise in HVAC system design for marine and offshore platforms.
- Proficiency in package management and lifecycle activities.
- Skill in preparing Technical Specifications, Datasheets, and RFQs for equipment packages.
- Ability to select and implement design solutions based on criticality ratings.
- Experience with HAZID and HAZOP requirements for equipment packages.
- Understanding of constructability requirements based on installation criticality.

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, desirable master’s degree in relevant field.
- Proficient with software such as Microsoft Office. Desirable Project Management training.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in a shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Lead Mechanical in Engineering Company.
- Package Engineering experience in high value projects.
