Manual Machinist

Overview:

• Responsible for setting up and machining various compaonents with precision and tight tolerances. Capable of planning and executing machining operations based on prints, sketches, or verbal instructions, with minimial supervision. Committed to performing tasks safely and efficiently to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Advanced knowledge in operating and maintaining various machines, equipment, and tools (horizontal and vertical lathes, vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, grinders, forklifts, cranes, etc.).
• Accurately use measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Understand tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, and documentation.
• Perform complex machine setups and operations (turning, boring, milling, drilling, etc.).
• Work to extremely close tolerances.
• Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and notify for repairs.
• Measure and record dimensional inspections accurately. Complete layouts of most parts.
• Train other employees in equipment operation and repair processes.
• Complete daily production and quality logs.
• Always ensure safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Conduct oneself professionally with internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 5-8 years’ experience with rotating turbo machinery
• Advanced rigging and Manual machining capabilities
• Experience with turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment is preferred.
