Marine Engineer - Analyses and Calculations

 
As Aker Solutions’ global recruitment partner NES Advantage is now looking for: Marine Engineer-  Analyses & Calculations with experience in onshore or offshore projects.
 
This position is led from Stord and is not a rotation
 
Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.
 
What will you be doing?

• Prepare the marine basis for projects, ensuring quality and timely completion of marine work according to established plans, procedures, and routines.
• Establish, update, and maintain marine work sequences and documentation.
• Implement construction and HSSE-friendly design in marine documents.
• Ensure the marine basis is up to date by incorporating new designs, revisions, DCNs, and fabrication deviations.
• Perform design verification and resolve unclear details and requirements.
• Verify engineering and vendor documentation, providing feedback to suppliers on missing information and discrepancies.
• Prioritize HSSE in all work execution.

 
Qualifications we think you should have:

• Higher university degree with a solid command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of structural analysis, hydrostatic stability, and hydrodynamics.
• Solid understanding of industry standards and regulations, with good communication skills when working with external parties in marine operations and across disciplines.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in software such as Staad-Pro, Sesam, StruProg, Mathcad, 3D/2D CAD systems, and technical registers like MIPS and planning systems.
• Good knowledge of PEM and the ability to perform structural analysis, ideally with experience using Sesam Genie.
