Our client, OneSubsea (JV of Schlumberger, Aker Solutions and Subsea7), located in Mobile, Alabama is looking to add a Master Planner.

Position Summary

OneSubsea is seeking to hire an experienced Master Planner to join our dynamic Umbilical & Cable Systems Engineering team at our manufacturing and design facility in Mobile, AL.

Under limited supervision, the individual competently performs all aspects of successful manufacturing slot planning according to contract, oversee capacity planning and manufacturing resource allocation based on workload, manufacturing planning analysis, monthly reporting including KPIs and metrics, and impact assessments.  

Essential Duties

  • Produce and maintain manufacturing medium and long-term planning for backlogs and prospects projects.
  • Produce and maintain manufacturing slot plan by integrating high-level integrated plan (EPC) taking into account key drivers of engineering deliverables, material, resources and capacity constraints.
  • Lead manufacturing slot plan meeting.
  • Establish and perform planning activities in both Primavera and SAP
  • Establish capacity requirement plan for new projects based on probability and implement in Master plan. Align with Primavera master plan and ongoing projects
  • Conduct analysis of deviations to plan to identify critical risks and slippages. Propose recovery plan, preventive / mitigation actions, “what if” scenarios for manufacturing slot plan optimisation.
  • Discuss and align with manufacturing department managers on both current and forecast workloads, capacity charts and delivery plan. Smooth or level the allocation of demand against the agreed capacities to ensure current and future work can be executed when needed.
  • Prepare high level manufacturing schedules, workload, capacity charts, manufacturing schedule risk assessment for tendering, highlighting any risk / constraints to the schedule and area of concern regarding capability and capacity.
  • Assist with decisions to subcontract / outsource work upfront from an immediate / short term need perspective.
  • Monitor activities daily and update Primavera plan to determine adherence to schedule. Responsible to provide accurate manufacturing progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure on time delivery of manufacturing deliverables from planning to close-out.
  • Update and provide input / report to MOR, S&OP and other meetings / discussion
  • Study and consider implementation of new planning processes, KPI’s, PI’s, continues improvement and assured Quality for both manufacturing and operation base.
  • Able to direct and lead multi-person planning and scheduling staff
  • Provide expertise and guidance to less experienced individuals
  • As required, review and create relevant functional manuals / procedures and define relevant functional processes
  • Ensure that all company procedures are complied with and all actions are auditable whilst maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standards.
  • As necessary, perform other duties, requiring essentially the same level of skill & responsibility when required
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering or Management
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of technical or relevant experience
  • Expert in Primavera P6 software as a 'hands-on' user required
  • SAP experience required
  • Experience in engineering and/or construction work process and activity sequence required
  • Multiple subsea product experience preferred
  • Ability to expand technical knowledge related to the cause and effect of project integration
  • Proficiently communicate ideas and concepts, developing the ability to persuade and influence others as needed, explaining why things are done the way they are within a broader organizational context
  • Ability to monitor and report project progress
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is critical
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English arerequired
