NES Fircroft are working alongside a world leader in metallurgical plant solutions and a full-line supplier who are looking to add a Materials Controller to their Sheffield Office.  This role is available on a permanent basis.

Main Purpose:

To manage supplier delivery performance for defined projects/orders, ensuring timely delivery. This includes owning the supplier order and coordinating all related activities until delivery.

Responsibilities:
•    Expediting Plans: Develop plans with Procurement, SQM, and stakeholders based on performance data and project risks.
•    Supplier Schedules: Ensure receipt and regular review of suppliers' manufacturing schedules, addressing potential delivery risks.
•    Supplier Visits: Monitor progress through visits and develop countermeasures if necessary.
•    Free Issue Parts & Documentation: Coordinate delivery of parts and ensure quality documentation is reviewed.
•    Progress Tracking: Use IT systems to monitor and communicate project/order statuses.
•    Stakeholder Communication: Communicate order status and address potential delivery risks with stakeholders.
•    Supplier Performance & Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact, manage supplier relationships, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
•    KPIs & Continuous Improvement: Define, monitor, and report KPIs, developing improvement plans to address underperformance.
•    Continuous Improvement: Review and improve processes and systems for cost and time efficiencies.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

•    Planning & Organizing: Structured and organized approach.
•    Production Planning Experience: Familiarity with production planning processes.
•    Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail.
•    Communication: Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
•    Priority Setting: Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting demands.
•    Decision Making: Ability to make fast-paced judgements.
•    IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and preferably SAP.
•    Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build effective working relationships and take initiative.
•    Continuous Learning: Commitment to personal development.

Required Experience:

•    Experience in manufacturing, engineering, planning, or expediting roles.
•    Experience working with different cultures.
•    Manufacturing/engineering-related qualifications (desirable but not essential).

Additional Information:

•    Full driving licence required.
•    Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally at short notice.
