MECHANICAL ENGINEER / PLANNER

Summary Decision Rights:
• Develop Plans/Schedules.
• Facilitate Planning meetings.
• Create job plans.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinates with the project teams to develop Owner’s team schedules and highlevel overall project schedules.
• Prepares and manages overall master project schedule integrating the project work breakdown structure using an appropriate scheduling software package.
• Develop planning activities, durations, and logic in Primavera/MS Project.
• Proactively engages with disciplines to establish schedules as well as identify and resolve issues.
• Generates schedule reports and works with team on progress and resource reporting, monitoring, and analyses. Reports and analyses monthly deviations from plan.
• Plan, organize, and supervise schedule resource loading and levelling.
• Identify critical paths including critical float path analysis.
• Prepare Risk analysis report.
• Evaluates allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress.
• Work closely with Analyst to ensure that the operating budget is optimized.
• Works closely with team for change management and corresponding impacts on project schedules as well as evaluation of earned value.
• Supports team in conducting integrated planning reviews (IPRs).
• Participates in project reviews, assurances, and risk assessments.
• Participates on teams to support operations activities such as Process Hazard
Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC) and Pre/Post-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR).
• Assists in development of planning procedures.
• Prepares and issues updated project schedules.
• Interface with all stakeholders on planning and work progress related issues.
• Align with contractors to reduce cost and promote continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline required and  a minimum 10 years' planning experience, preferable in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control for all aspects of Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
• Ability to accurately solve problems.
• Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
• Ability to complete, multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities through effective time management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.

Capabilities, Systems, Competence:
• Excellent administrative and organization skills.
• Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
o Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Projects, and Outlook), Planning software (Primavera P6) proficiency.
• Earned Value Management experience.
• Practical experience of operating Project Controls for planning aspects of projects.
