Mechanical Technician

NES Fircroft has partnered with a Gladstone Hydrogen Systems team who are driving innovation in green energy, and they’re looking for a motivated Mechanical Technician to join their dynamic Product Development team. Play a vital role in operating and maintaining cutting-edge hydrogen gas process plants, contributing to groundbreaking developments in renewable hydrogen production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor hydrogen gas process plants via SCADA, ensuring safe, efficient performance.
• Execute routine and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform small bore tubing and flange management, supporting plant integrity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise processes and provide operational feedback.
• Maintain detailed records, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and participate in risk assessments.

What They’re Looking For:

• Experience: 5+ years in hazardous process environments (e.g., oil & gas, power generation).
• Qualifications: Cert III Mechanical Trade (or equivalent), small bore tube fitting expertise, and gas process plant operational knowledge.
• Skills: SCADA familiarity, strong troubleshooting ability, and knowledge of flange management.
• Attributes: Proactive, safety-focused, team-oriented, and adept at interpreting P&IDs and process diagrams.

Desirable Skills & Training:

• Gas Test Atmospheres, First Aid, and Confined Space certifications.
• Experience with purging and O2-free startups, as well as fire rescue training.

Offering:

• 6 Month contract 
• Rotating roster 
• $700 - $900 / day + super 
• Potential for extension or transition to permanent
