Job Description:
We are seeking a Land Advisor / Representative with a background in mineral land management to join our team on a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and experience working with leases, contracts, and processing large volumes of agreements and data. A focus on data integrity and record clean-up will be crucial as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Land Management: Oversee the acquisition, stewardship, and management of both surface and subsurface rights throughout the asset life cycle. This includes acquiring new rights, monetizing, or divesting as necessary to deliver value and mitigate risk.
  • Commercial Agreements: Negotiate, develop, and execute commercial agreements, including leases and right-of-ways, ensuring functional alignment and compliance across teams.
  • Contract Stewardship: Analyze and manage the integrity of contracts related to mineral land, ensuring proper compliance, acreage management, and risk management. Support the team with effective contract execution.
  • Data Integrity and Record Management: Maintain and clean up large datasets, focusing on data accuracy and completeness.
  • Business Opportunity Development: Recommend and prioritize strategies for the acquisition, divestiture, or monetization of business opportunities tied to new or existing assets.
  • External Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with landowners, government officials, service providers, and partners to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment with project goals.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic input into business plans and development strategies, with a focus on identifying cross-functional opportunities.
  • Dispute and Claim Resolution: Manage and resolve disputes and claims, providing support during litigation processes as needed.
  • Land Ownership and Risk Assessment: Support in determining land ownership, evaluating risks, and addressing title defects when they arise.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to update systems and enhance efficiency, utilizing the latest technology where applicable.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10-20 years of experience in mineral land management. Candidates with 20+ years of experience will be considered for a Level 3 position.
  • Data Management: Strong experience working with large datasets and an emphasis on record clean-up and ensuring data integrity.
  • Technology Familiarity: A background in newer technology or systems used in mineral land management to help drive system updates and improvements.
  • Commercial Contracts: Strong knowledge of title documents, courthouse records, easement agreements, and other acquisition-related documentation.
  • Negotiation and Relationship Management: Proficiency in negotiating commercial agreements and managing relationships both internally and externally.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in relation to land agreements.
  • Certification: Must have the required certifications for mineral land.
