NES Fircroft are partnering with a global resources client who are looking for a Mining Engineer – Surface Mining to join the team. This is short term contract of 3 months
The Role:
FIFO 8:6 roster
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer and Superintendent of Operational Planning, you will be responsible for designing, scheduling and issuing work instructions for the completion of all mining plans spanning all planning horizons
You will utilise available orebody information to optimize ore extraction, ensuring maximum efficiency and economic potential. Monitoring and reporting variances against short and medium-term mine schedules, you'll actively engage with mine operations and seek peer review to maintain alignment with objectives.

You will utilise available orebody information to optimize ore extraction, ensuring maximum efficiency and economic potential. Key accountabilities of this role include;
- Assists in developing mining plans based on all available orebody information to support short, medium and long-range planning, and optimised ore extraction
- Monitors and reports variances against the short and medium term mine schedule
- Actively seeking the input of mine operations and peer review of design work
- Ensures all design work maximises the economic potential of the ore-body
- Uses appropriate change management systems across the business
- Assists to continuously improves mine planning, scheduling and reporting systems
- Works collaboratively with Mine and Plant Operations to ensure optimised plans
- Participates in technical risk assessments
The Requirements:
To be successfully considered for this role, you must have the following skills;

- Experience in basic mine design principals
- Strong software skills (Mine design, mine scheduling, Microsoft Office)
- Relevant open pit mining experience
