NES Fircroft are partnering with a global resources client who are after a Mining Engineer  to join the team. This is initially a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension.
 
The Role:
 
DIDO 7:7 roster.
This role is DIDO or BIBO every day and home every night.
 
Reporting the Mine Production Planning Superintendent, you will Provide expertise, coordination and management in the development and communication of all short term (from weekly up to 3 months) plans, schedules, designs and forecasts for the operations to enable the effective completion of production, development and rehabilitation activities.
 
  • Development of the weekly schedule for the mine operation incorporating production, development and rehabilitation activities that supports refinery production targets.
 
  • Ensure that the weekly schedule is in alignment with the 3-month plan and budget targets and external requirements.
 
  • Deliver feasible design inputs to schedulers that account for HSEC, volume and cost requirements of the operation. Inclusive, but not limited to design of development activities, optimised design of mining pits, infrastructure and Drill &
 
  • Contribute to the development and adherence of Production Planning standards and processes
 
  • Participate in audits, inspections and investigations as required.
 
  • Positively influence and shape the culture to ensure a safe, sustainable and disciplined approach to work while building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
 
  • Proactive support of continuous improvement measures to deliver clear efficiency and cost benefits.
 
 
The Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or relevant degree
 
  • Proven ability to solve problems and deal with ambiguity
 
  • Experience in mine design, planning and scheduling surface mining operations
 
  • Competent in using XACT / Scheduling software and Vulcan software (or similar).
 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
 
  • Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with coordination capability
 
  • Proven capability to operate in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams.
