Wellsite Drilling Supervisor
Job Description
This position is for a contract Drilling Supervisor to manage the Drilling operations including the overall responsibility for planning, HSE, contract management and leading a team of rig personnel and sub contractor operations on location safely and efficiently. This will require the person to be on location 24 / 7 for ether a 14 day on off or 28 day on off shift.

Job Description
This position is for a contract Drilling Supervisor to manage the Drilling operations including the overall responsibility for planning, HSE, contract management and leading a team of rig personnel and sub contractor operations on location safely and efficiently. This will require the person to be on location 24 / 7 for ether a 14 day on off or 28 day on off shift.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for ensuring HSE is integrated in the procedure and execution of wells operations (Safety Meetings, TBT's JSA's, etc.) Lead Front Line safety leadership and the delivery of daily safety goals and action plans. Ensure Wells Process Safety principles are implemented, identifying and ensuring compliance to Front Barrier Management.
- Responsible for planning, logistics, supervision, assurance and documentation of the execution of approved well work activities. Any deviation from the approved program will require initiation of Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure appropriate risk management and approvals in place.
- Ensure all operations are executed in compliance with company procedures, manuals, policies and guidelines.
- Ensure that the equipment arriving at the rig site for use on the well construction program are certified, measured, and verified prior to running in hole, including casing and liner strings.
- Write Detailed Work Instructions, for the Rig Drilling Contractor and the Drilling Service Providers on the Rig. The Instructions will be discussed in detail every day with all leads to ensure every function on the well site understands fully the operations plan for the day. The Instructions will include, but not be limited to the following: Detailed summary of next steps in the well construction process, Expectations covering wellbore hazards and special or additional precautions required, Conditions and timing for contractor people and equipment, any other business that may impact the safe and efficient execution of the well construction process.
- Witness all pressure tests (BOP, Casing, LOT, FIT, SIT, etc.), and other Company well integrity verification requirements.
- Calculate all cement jobs and confirm calculations with the cement supervisor on location prior pumping job and ensure sufficient displacement fluid is on location.
- Ensure mud engineer performs thorough mud checks throughout the day and accurately reflects the properties in the daily drilling report and daily mud report.
- Ensure the Directional Drillers are maintaining the desired well bore trajectory and communicates any deviations in a timely manner to prevent unnecessary high dog legs and costly sidetracks.
- Monitor all open-hole tripping, and as a minimum will be on the rig floor to witness the first 10 stands pulled off bottom and the last 10 stands being run to bottom. In addition, be present on the rig floor for tight hole conditions.
- Ensure the Driller is filling out trip sheets properly.
- Track well costs and job timing during execution, including differentiating trouble costs/time from expected costs/time and advise on potential cost overruns. Checks and verifies for correctness and signs all job reports and tickets for activities carried out on the well by the Rig and Drilling Services Contractors.
- Trains and mentors all company early career DSVs and other rig-based Company trainees
- Manage contractor services in the field in line with the contracting strategy and the goals of the management team. Serve as a focal point for HSE management with the contractors and the evaluation of service quality. Lead discussions with contractors regarding performance, future plans, and deviations as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining communication and leading by example in ensuring integration with the Asset Team and support departments.

- Onshore drilling in Trinidad, experience with deep gas and oil well operations
- Multi well pad batch and concurrent drilling operations
- Supervisory experience on HPHT gas wells.
