OFFSHORE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assembly and commissioning of electrical systems
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical system faults
  • Actively maintaining and repairing electrical systems
  • Working part of a skilled offshore team with a key focus on minimising equipment downtime
  • Actively contributing to equipment modifications and improvements
  • Completing detailed and concise daily/weekly reports
     
JOB CONTEXT, MAIN ACTIVIES AND SCOPE:
  • Extensive experience working with Electro/Hydraulic systems 
  • Served a recognized electrical apprenticeship
  • Demonstrable experience working offshore and in challenging marine environments
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 electrical engineering
  • City & guilds level 3 electrotechnical studies
  • C&G 18th edition qualified
  • Good knowledge of 3 phase systems
  • In depth knowledge of electrical motors and generators
  • Familiar with and confident working with PLC control systems
  • Good understanding of H&S practices and equipment legislation
  • Maintain a safe and effective working environment, ensuring all safe systems of work are effectively communicated and recorded to the relevant site operatives. Ensure compliance with these safe systems of work.
  • Work in accordance with the company management system.
  • Working 4-week rotations on a 7 day a week/ 12 hour a day shift pattern.

REQUISITE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL experience:
  • Experienced in solving problems in challenging circumstances.
  • Experience of working to a pre-defined works program in challenging circumstances.
  • English speaking.

ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Use of hydraulic torque applicators
  • Heavy lifting operational/supervisory experience.
  • Mechanical/hydraulic fitting experience.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 electrical engineering
  • City & guilds level 3 electrotechnical studies
  • C&G 18th edition qualified WAH
