This is a great opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the QSSHE team. You will be based across various offshore assets in the Southern North Sea. The primary function of this role is to promote, develop, and maintain a health, safety, and environmentally aware asset. Utilising specialist knowledge from team members, you will provide a comprehensive Medic and Occupational Health function to our offshore platforms and associated NUI’s.

Alongside the medical responsibilities, you will deliver high-level safety support and coaching to management and platform staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements regarding Health, Safety & Environment.

Key Responsibilities: Medical and Occupational Health:

  • Provide emergency medical response, primary medical care, and prehospital life support.
  • Ensure adequate resources of medical equipment and consumables.
  • Provide clinical service for routine illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Act as the focal point for RIDDOR reporting.
  • Serve as the Manual Handling Coordinator/Trainer, COSHH Coordinator, Noise at Work Appointed Person, HAV’s Focal Point, DSE/Ergonomic Assessor, Asbestos Focal Point, Potable Water Focal Point, Radiation Protection Supervisor, and manage stress.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Performance:

  • Act as the point of contact for all HSE issues and support for offshore platforms.
  • Administer and report on progress related to the POST system.
  • Supervise personnel involved in maintenance and overhaul of lifesaving and firefighting appliances.
  • Provide health, safety, and environmental advice on matters related to planned shutdowns, vessel outages, tank entry, etc.
  • Participate actively in risk assessment discussions and safety meetings.
  • Familiarize with platform safety cases and maintain technical accuracy of controlled documents.
  • Support emergency exercises and ERP procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support platform personnel on systems such as MOI, PTRAC, SEVRON, Asbestos Permit to Work, etc.
  • Assist Safety Reps in delivering continuous safety performance and setting HSE objectives.
  • Participate in Action Teams (e.g., Ptrac, MOI).
  • Act as an individual champion for HSE issues.
  • Oversee radiological work and manage the transportation and disposal of LSA contaminated equipment.
  • Coordinate COSHH activities, waste management, and environmental inspections.
  • Serve as the platform focal point for environmental elements covered by ISO 14001 certified EMS.
  • Work closely with the onshore Environmental Specialist.
Safety Critical Tasks:
  • Asbestos Assessor: Manage and work with asbestos, including non-licensed, notifiable non-licensed, or licensed work.
  • COSHH Assessor: Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous substances.
  • Hand Arm Vibration Management: Manage and control HAVs exposure.
  • Manual Handling Assessor: Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control strategies.
  • Noise Assessor: Measure noise, develop action plans, and ensure compliance.
  • Potable Water Management: Manage hazards associated with water supply and storage.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor: Adhere to Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and supervise local rules.
Required Qualifications:
  • Offshore Survival to OGUK Standard.
  • Offshore Medic Certificate (Iqarus/Nottingham University certification preferred, or pass Iqarus Competence Test).
  • BOSIET, MIST, and Medical Certification.
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate (Diploma preferred).
  • Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, and Auditing Skills.
  • Reporting and Presenting Skills (Written & Verbal).
  • Eligeible to work in the UK
Preferred Qualifications (not essential):
  • Occupational Hygiene Qualifications (Core modules in Asbestos, COSHH, Noise, Vibration).
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor.
  • Environmental Knowledge (UK Legal Requirements).
