UNO work closely with specifiers and clients to determine the best product for their requirements and their aluminium joinery enhances the architectural character of any building while being reliable, robust and adding value. They have the expertise and technology to take projects from architectural concept to completion with the emphasis on quality and functionality.
The Operations Manager is a newly created role in line with their growth and in this role, you will be responsible for managing a small team of around 12 people and will be responsible for growing, guiding and managing your team to ensure the manufacturing process is streamlined. This will include ensuring that your team:
Overall, you would be responsible for ensuring the aluminium joinery is manufactured on time and to a high standard while meeting customer expectations. Having experience with LEAN manufacturing and process improvement would be an advantage and this would allow you to further set up systems to suit the company and manufacturing.
You will have strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and overcome any issues that may arise as well as meeting manufacturing and delivery deadlines and maintaining positive customer relationships as well as ensuring a positive team environment is in place.
Having great staff leadership skills, you will be able to support, guide and mentor staff to get the best out of them while aligning them to work towards company goals and strategic visions. You will have a proven track record in terms of managing multiple projects at a time in a factory environment, you will have a reputation in the building industry of providing effective leadership and credibility and you will have been working in positions that have commanded respect.
You will have relevant qualifications or had a proven track record in the building or related industry after working through the ranks. Being familiar with NZ building codes and regulations would be an advantage. Having an aluminium or windows and doors background is definitely an advantage however we will consider applications from ‘true leaders’ coming from other manufacturing environments.
In order to be successful in this role you will have excellent attention to detail, be well organised and be able to delegate tasks to appropriate personnel in an effective and organised manner.
Your ability to deal with pressure, your high-level problem solving and communication skills are all major competencies required in this role. You must have the ability to interact successfully with both internal and external parties at all levels and have excellent reporting skills.
