Operations Manager / Operations Team Leader
Hawera, South Taranaki

Nevada is New Zealand’s go-to specialist for dairy effluent equipment and solutions, working alongside dairy farmers across New Zealand and Australia. From our base in Hawera, we operate as a small, dedicated team with a strong family vibe, focused on providing practical solutions and exceptional service to our customers.

Due to internal growth, we are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to join our management team. We're seeking someone energetic, proactive, and eager to make a real impact across our operations and customer delivery.

About the Role:
This is a key leadership role where you will oversee the operations of the company. You’ll coordinate certain production workflows and manage relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers, while leading a small internal operations team. The role is varied and will see you involved in supply chain coordination, logistics, project management, inventory management and after-sales support.
You will also work closely with customers, contractors, and our internal sales team, with occasional travel within New Zealand and to Australia for short project trips.
We are open to someone who is passionate and ready to grow into this role, or someone with prior leadership experience looking for a fresh challenge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small internal operations team.
  • Coordinate production workflows and manage relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and parts (domestic and international) and manage logistics, including inwards/outwards freight.
  • Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Oversee dispatch preparation and delivery scheduling.
  • Project manage equipment installations and commissioning work.
  • Provide technical support to customers and coordinate servicing and warranty work with contractors and service agents.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operational processes, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on budgets and operational planning.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate targets, updates, and initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:
  • A background in engineering, production, or operations is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • A desire to step into a leadership role and grow within a supportive, tight-knit team.
