Our client, a leading Oilfield Services company, is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to join their team in Fornebu. This position is initially offered as a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support project management and engineering management functions on a critical project.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in the planning, design, and execution of oil and gas projects, including drilling, production, and infrastructure development.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and services, and facilitate project team-vendor relationships to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project life cycle, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager by identifying and proposing cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality standards.
  • Foster effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
  • Implement and oversee quality control and assurance processes to meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Support the Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in motivating project teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring team members have the necessary resources and support to achieve project goals.
  • Travel internationally as required by the project, occasionally on short notice.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project engineering within the Energy, Oil, and Gas sector.
  • In-depth understanding of oil and gas operations, production techniques, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of oil and gas processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, and a commitment to safety in project execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with project management software, CAD tools, and relevant industry software.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
