Our client is actively seeking a Project Engineer II to join their team out of Edison, NJ! This individual will be responsible for a series of assigned projects, coordinating and tracking technical efforts to ensure that goals and objectives or varying projects are accomplished within specific parameteres. This is a full-time, contract opportunity with a global leader in the chemicals industry!!

Oversees engineering aspects of assigned projects, coordinating and tracking technical efforts to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished within a prescribed timeframe and funding parameters performing the following duties personally or through engineering resources assigned to the projects.

DESCRIPTION
Oversees engineering aspects of assigned projects, coordinating and tracking technical efforts to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished within a prescribed timeframe and funding parameters performing the following duties personally or through engineering resources assigned to the projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Participates on Project teams, providing Instrumentation engineering leadership under the general supervision of a Project Manager.
- Responsible for designated project results.
- Reports on status of engineering aspects of the project to the Project Manager.
- Responsible for effective scope definition, quality of deliverables and change management.
- Interfaces with the Owners Team and offshore engineering team toward ensuring project results.
- Identifies, develops, and estimates scope changes to be proposed to the team.
- Must be able to interpret instrument specifications, mechanical flowsheets and piping specifications
- Must possess broad and deep knowledge of instrumentation, and/or be a quick learner in all areas of engineering execution, discipline interface, how information flows between disciplines and how to tailor to the project.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership capability on projects in the office as well as in the field.
- Must possess excellent communication skills with task force, with client and with management.
- Ability to demonstrate solid presentation skills, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to recognize when difficult decisions must be made, engage others to participate in decisions, and hold all to decisions which have been made.
- Must demonstrate track record of good client relations.
- As a minimum, must be able to demonstrate those skills commensurate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- Proficient in Excel, Word Processing and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field from four-year college or university.
- 5-9 years’ experience in the Chemical industry as a Instrumentation or Project Engineer All job functions must be performed in accordance with Client Corporate policies and procedures.
