PSCM Materials Management Operations Team Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • The role holder is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day running of the site base including Co-ordination of activities at the Pipeyard that impact site base operations.
  • Responsible for activities required to operate in a safe and responsible manner in support of departments. 
  • Responsible for the oversight of efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of all materials and equipment received by the materials department.
  • The team lead will be accountable and responsible for obtaining and retaining a talented team for the materials department.
  • Participate in coaching, mentoring, and training programs that foster development and boost performance.
  • To cover the role of Site Controller in the permit/control of work system.
  • Responsible for overseeing all lifting activities including supervising complicated/complex lifts, to assist in the continuous training/development of the local workforce in rigging/lifting/crane-forklift operation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Sets clear direction, priorities and boundaries for the team.
  • Plan, oversee and supervise complicated/complex lifting operations
  • Coach/mentor all lifting/material handling tasks.
  • Demonstrates personal excellence regarding HSSE behaviours and leadership.
  • Ensure all personnel are trained and informed and clearly understand expectations of management and HSE.
  • Develop and manage a continuous improvement program.
  • Ensure procedures are available to run daily activities that are current and comply with requirements.
  • Ensure that Control of Work measures are employed for all activities and operations.
  • Oversee the Worksafe system with the responsibility of being Site Controller.
  • Assess and manage risk by applying principles to prevent, control and mitigate the risks.
  • Support, adhere to and promote the HSE principles.
  • Ensure all materials are optimally managed with regard to receiving, storage, preservation, delivery and issuing.
  • Ensure all personnel competence levels are monitored and evaluated continually.
  • Ensure all facilities are maintained and that planned maintenance programs are complied with.
  • Oversee QA/QC standards are understood and complied with by all personnel.
  • Manage the site base transition and associated contracts
  • Liaise and support other departments and associated contractors
  • Set good housekeeping standards.
  • Continually support and adhere to and promote the HSE principles

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years in Materials Management supervision.
  • Ability to oversee and manage multifunctional activities.
  • Ability to coach & mentor JV Partner personnel
  • Ability to plan & deliver training courses to local personnel in rigging/lifting & forklift/crane operations.
  • At least 10 year’s experience of material handling/lifting techniques.
  • Recognised qualification in lifting operations – (Appointed Person for example)
  • Experience in the inspection of all types of lifting equipment, plant & machinery.
  • Understanding of mechanical fault finding/repairs
  • Experience of working with Government Departments.
  • Sound knowledge of company HSE policies and standards.
  • Good management skills and the ability to motivate personnel.
  • Computer literate in MS word, excel and outlook.
  • Successfully worked in cross-functional teams.
  • Well-developed communications and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience and familiarity with QA/AC Processes.
  • Experience and familiarity with Control of Work and Worksafe systems.
  • Experience with Maximo/SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing in English language
  • Experience of working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Experience of working in a hostile environment.
