We are collaborating with a reputable food manufacturer in search of a highly skilled food technologist.

As a food technologist, you will focus on creating and producing food and drink items. Your main goals are to ensure the products are safe, made efficiently, and comply with regulations.

Collaboration with product development teams is common to prepare recipes for production based on kitchen samples. Staying updated on food production regulations is crucial for your role.

Your responsibilities may differ based on your workplace, which could be in manufacturing, universities, research groups, retailers, or local governments.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Review and enhance safety and quality control methods in your own and suppliers' factories, from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Investigate current consumer trends and new technologies to create fresh product ideas.
  • Choose raw materials and ingredients from suppliers.
  • Calculate product costs based on raw materials and production expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Conduct supplier audits or manage internal audits.
  • Test new products, either alongside or as part of product development.
  • Organize the launch of new products.
  • Address customer complaints and product-related issues.
  • Gather, verify, and approve product specifications and ensure proper labeling.
  • Design processes and machinery for consistent large-scale production with uniform flavor, color, and texture.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and customers, and collaborate with colleagues in procurement, sales, technical services, marketing, and distribution.
  • A solid grasp of food regulations and compliance is crucial. Applicants should hold a degree in Food Science, Technology, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the food and beverage sector, especially in R&D, is necessary.
