Our valued client, Chevron, is looking for an experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join their Perth based Wells team for an initial 12 month contract, to support planning and execution of Drilling operations on their assets in Western Australia.
Scope: Deepwater Subsea Development Gas Wells
The role will involve office planning and execution support and will report to the Engineering Team Lead and Wells Superintendent, depending on project phasing. The individual will be responsible for representing Chevron at various engagements, facilities and field locations, and will play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment while delivering high quality design and execution plans.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Chevron representative, promote and implement Chevron health, safety, and environment programs in line with relevant corporate and regulatory policies.
- Perform Drilling Engineering design work for Deepwater Subsea Gas wells from early phase planning to execution.
- Develop design and execution plans consistent with corporate and industry standards.
- Act as a focal point between Wells and Asset teams to ensure alignment of plans and deliverables.
- Lead and participate in technical reviews and risk assessments of Well Design and Operational activities, ensuring adherence to Chevron's assurance processes and quality standards.
- Manage Business Partner interfaces including general contract management, generation of purchase orders and service requests, ongoing interface meeting, and post job reporting.
- Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies, tools, and techniques, enhancing operational safety and performance.
- Ensure accurate tracking of all aspects of Well execution performance.
- Mentor and coach junior well engineers, sharing knowledge and experience, and fostering a culture of learning and development.
Competency and Experience:
- Experienced in designing and executing deepwater subsea high-rate gas wells.
- Relevant experience in subsea well design using floating MODUs.
- Proficient in relevant Drilling engineering softwares (Landmark, DrillPlan, etc) and reporting softwares (Wellview, etc).
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and evaluate complex and challenging Well operations, applying sound engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Proven teamwork and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- High level of initiative, creativity, and innovation, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and learn from feedback.
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects in different phases of design maturity.
Requirements:
- Current Australian citizenship or appropriate visa to work in Australia.
- Minimum of 10 years oil and gas experience in a similar operator role
- Industry recognised well control certification
- Offshore medical & survival certification
