Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to secure environmental approvals for a major operation in Queensland. As Senior Environmental Advisor, you will be an expert in securing environmental approvals, supporting resource development teams and developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies. This role will be a Brisbane CBD based position, working Monday to Friday with infrequent trips to site.

Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to secure environmental approvals for a major operation in Queensland. As Senior Environmental Advisor, you will be an expert in securing environmental approvals, supporting resource development teams and developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies. This role will be a Brisbane CBD based position, working Monday to Friday with infrequent trips to site.
In this role, you will:
- Apply for, amend, and surrender statutory environmental approvals and permits.
- Advise projects on permitting strategy and associated risks.
- Keep stakeholders informed of changes to environmental approvals, regulations, legislation, and policies.
- Identify and implement streamlining efficiencies to enhance the administration of regulatory approvals.
- Engage with regulatory authorities to advocate for and negotiate project approvals.
- Promote awareness of compliance with regulatory requirements among project teams.
- A degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional expertise.
- Over 8 years of experience in sustainable mining development, including environmental planning, technical studies, and securing regulatory approvals.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian environmental legislation, particularly in Queensland
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, effectively manage priorities, and collaborate within a team environment.
- Flexibility and readiness to travel to site
