Job Description

As a Marine Engineer, you will take on the role of an independent Marine Engineer for various projects, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective Marine Systems designs for our client’s products, with a primary focus on FPSOs and potentially Floating LNG products. This role may involve periods of high workload due to project scope demands within your discipline. You may also be requested to take on assignments in the customer’s project offices or shipyards worldwide, either short or long-term.

Job Requirements

Our client is seeking candidates with an MSc or BSc degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Higher Seafaring College, or General Operational Technology (AOT).

Applicants should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Marine Systems Engineering and Design, ideally in Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed phases.
Additional qualifications include:

  • Deep experience and technical expertise in both conceptual and detailed design of marine and production systems on floating production units (FSO's, FPSO's, Oil & Gas Carriers, Chemical Tankers, Drilling Units, Semisubmersibles, TLP) for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong interface knowledge with related disciplines such as Naval, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, Technical Safety & Regulatory.
  • Preferable experience with shipyards, shipboard operation, and marine equipment vendors and manufacturers.
  • Prior experience in the Engineering & Design and/or Operation of LNG carriers.
  • Familiarity with the latest marine systems and equipment technology, with an ability to specify and evaluate equipment while balancing technological innovation and commercial viability.
  • Knowledge of classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds), international regulations, and experience implementing Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies.
  • Experience with review methodologies, such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA HP/LP Reports, and SIF Reports.
