- Modify existing and/or develop new process control applications and operator interfaces
- Confirm the functionality of modified/new process control applications and operator interfaces using an offline development DCS
- Support the installation and commissioning of the modified/new process control applications and operator interfaces on the online DCS
- Leverage experience to recommend efficiencies in the development of modified/new Olefins furnace process controls and operator interfaces
- Minimum 10 years of practical Process Control experience as a Control / Applications Engineer in a manufacturing plant or engineering contractor firm, working with operations to deploy automated control solutions
- Demonstrated handson experience with Distributed Control Systems, specifically:
- Honeywell TDC 3000
- Strong applications/programming skills:
- TDC 3000 Regulatory and Advanced Control Applications [Application Modules (AM) and High-Performance Process Managers (HPM)]
- TDC 3000 AM and HPM Control Language (CL)
- TDC 3000 HPM logic points
- Native Window displays
- Effective communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with a customer focus
- Ability to progress work assignments independently, including
- Strong work ethic
- Strong focus on Technical Quality Assurance (TQA) of work products/deliverables
- Effective troubleshooting skills
- Adaptability to time pressures
- Experience working directly with Console Operators and familiarity with control room operations etiquette
- Ability to work effectively within a multidiscipline manufacturing team
- Chemical Engineering (B.S. or higher)
- Degrees in other engineering disciplines may be acceptable if the person can demonstrate a solid understanding of process control principles and unit operations (e.g., fundamental chemical engineering principles, process dynamics and feedback control in continuous operations)
- Working knowledge of Olefins furnace process and control technology
- Working knowledge of Honeywell LCN Network Gateways
