Our client, a Global Oil and Gas Operator is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer for a 12-month contract with potential to extend.
The successful candidate will provide reliability engineering support to the client’s operational facilities by executing the Defect Elimination program, developing and utilising reliability analytics, performing operational RAM modelling, coordinating and supporting the collation and implementation of reliability improvement plans, and facilitating Root Cause Analysis processes

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures to always ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment.
- Ensure the production reliability health indicator targets and Company business goals and objectives are met:
- Present periodic reliability reports:
- Support Bi-Monthly Reliability Forum (reliability analytics overview of period, production events / threats / risks, improvement plan implementation, bad actors)
- Verify Weekly and Monthly Production Meetings inputs (production events)
- Verify Monthly Joint Venture Partners report contribution (key production events summary)
- Manage own development and performance
- Achieve goals set and in line with the expectations of the Reliability Engineering Team Lead and deliver measurable results of goals and targets.
- Lead the delivery of reliability system / process improvement initiatives to completion.
- RCA Toolset and Defect Elimination: Coach production and engineering staff
- Excellent working knowledge of reliability-based approaches, assessment techniques and analytics.
- Able to provide coordination and improvement level support for the client’s Defect Elimination program.
- Adept at Root Cause Analysis facilitation and able to support the facility production teams (5 Whys) and engineering teams (PROACT) to ensure appropriate and consistent investigation of production events / threats / equipment trips / bad actors.
- Skilled at Reliability Analytics. Able to develop and use the required tools and workflows for Bad Actor / opportunity identification, Reliability Measurement, and the establishment of an Equipment Failure Data library. Tools to include:
- Production Analytics (Energy Components)
- Measurement Document Analytics (SAP)
- Reliability Pages (PI System Explorer)
- Notification Reliability Coding (SAP Master Data)
- Accomplished reliability practitioner and able to configure RAM models and utilise outputs.
- Strong knowledge of RCM process and integration of reliability analytics into maintenance engineering.
- Working knowledge of equipment relevant to oil and gas operations for offshore and LNG applications.
- Able to apply project management principles to Reliability Improvement Plans and associated selected objectives.
- Liaise with other functions as required, with strong communication skills.
- Ensure alignment with corporate standards and expectations.
- Build relationships with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to ensure that plant is operated and maintained in line with business expectation.
- Reliability and availability models (IsoGraph, OPTIMISE, or similar)
- RCM Analytical Software (IsoGraph, OnePM or similar)
- OSIsoft PI Data Management Platform and System and Visualisation Tools, GE Meridium APM, BH Cordant, Energy Components
- Microsoft Packages, SAP Foundation
- BSc. / BEng Degree in an engineering discipline
- Master of Reliability Engineering or Certified Reliability Engineer or equivalent experience.
- Reliability Engineering Skills and Experience
- Skilled Reliability Data Analyst
- Able to data mine from company databases, performing reliability analysis with clear actionable outcomes and understands:
- The company hydrocarbon accounting approach
- The construct of CMMS equipment failure records
- Calculational failure rate estimation and failure distributions for production and safety impacting equipment.
- Able to perform Bad Actor identification across a broad range of equipment types using data from various sources.
- Experienced Root Cause Analysis (RCA) facilitator with Defect Elimination and Reliability Improvement program experience and able to recognise common mode and common cause failures and human factors causal factors
- Skilled at Reliability System Modelling
- Competent at Reliability, Availability and Maintainability Modelling (RAM) and understands
- Monte Carlo simulation and aware of Markov Analysis
- How failure finding and PdM task intervals impact predicted system reliability
- Practised at Reliability in Maintenance Engineering within oil and gas operations and working knowledge of:
- RCM / PMO / FMECA / RBI / SIL methodologies
- Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) techniques
- Safety Critical Elements; Performance Standards and Assurance Tasks
- Company Risk Assessment Matrix
- Working knowledge of external standards ISO14224, ISO20815, ISO/TR12489, reliability measurement and KPIs
- Awareness of Process Safety and Asset Integrity Management (AIM) in oil and gas operations including Management of Change
- Strong multi-discipline communication skills and excellent presentation skills.
- Able to maintain clear communications across divisions and work as a team to deliver the required results.
