About the job:

Our client is a fast-growing provider of innovative R&D and engineering solutions in the energy industry. They specialise in subsea Chopsaws with a current focus on the decommissioning and IRM Oil & Gas markets. They are currently operating in Australia, USA, Brazil, North Sea and across the far east.

This is an exciting role that would offer the opportunity to work on projects across the globe whilst being part of a small, agile team. Our client is currently looking to hire a workshop technician with a strong mechanical background, who can work on the assembly, testing and maintenance of custom tooling as well as the flexibility to go offshore and complete projects around the globe for valued clients. The role is on a full time, permanent basis and the role will be based in Aberdeen with travel at a premium day rate for offshore project execution.

A strong safety-first, problem solving and team player mindset is crucial.

The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited too;


· Become a lead offshore technician on cutting work scopes.
· Build and prepare equipment for projects.
· Interpret general assembly drawings as well as hydraulic schematics for repairs and preparation for mobilisation, demos or upgrades.
· Undertake the preparation, modification and operational readiness of equipment to Company standards in a safe and efficient manner.
· Carry out customer tests with clients present
· Undertake the testing, diagnoses and repair of equipment in line with work plans up to the required quality and certification standards.
· Assist with the rigging up, building and rigging down of equipment as required.
· Report all incidents and non-conformances in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines.
· Actively participate in meetings to discuss safety, maintenance status/tasks, mobilisation/demobilisation updates etc.
· Carry out daily housekeeping of workplace and tools to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
· Support in stock and warehouse management
· Perform client demonstrations as and when required.


Mandatory Requirements:

· Strong Mechanical and hydraulics ability.
· The ability to problem solve and come up with good working solutions.
· Flexibility for travel around the world sometimes at short notice and adaptability to different environments (workshop, offshore and client sites)
· Effective, confident communicator both verbally and written.
· Able to work independently and within integrated local and virtual teams.
· Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS office software.
· Full command of English language written and spoken.

Preferred Requirements:

· Mechanical (or similar) apprenticeship or formal training.
· Forklift licence - we can offer training if required.
· Ability to use Solidworks (or similar 3D software)
