This is an excellent opportunity to join the existing Operations Team for one of the largest gas operators in the Southern North Sea. The successful candidate will serve as the on Site Competent Person (SCP) for our clients assets, including offshore installations, an onshore workshop, warehouse, and the Bacton Terminal.

This is a critical role within the organisation, ensuring the safe and compliant execution of all lifting operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lift Plan Development and Approval:
  • Develop and approve all categories of lift plans.
  • Obtain Lifting Technical Authority (TA) approval for complex lift plans.
  • Risk Assessment and Plan Review:
  • Continuously review risk assessments and lift plans for routine lifts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of routine and specific lifting plans and risk assessments for the site/installation.
  • Personnel and Compliance Management:
  • Maintain the register of persons authorized to perform lifting operations on the site/installation.
  • Act as Performing Authority (PA) for complex lifts where necessary.
  • Coordinate site requirements for rigging loft inventory.
  • Provide technical advice to the PUK Site LOLER Representative.
  • Audit specialist contractors' lifting equipment for compliance with PUK standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • OPITO Rigger Competence Stage 3 and/or NVQ Level 3 in Lifting and Moving Loads
  • OPITO LOLER Competent Person (LCP) Qualification
  • CPCS Appointed Person: Lifting Operations A61
  • BOSIET or FOET Certificate (with CA EBS)
  • Offshore Medical Certificate
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in lifting, planning operations, and rigging.
  • Extensive proven records for theoretical and practical knowledge about categories of lifting operations (especially complicated and complex lifts), lift planning, and rigging.


Additional Information:
The SCP will be based in the Norwich office but must be prepared for travel to various onshore sites and offshore installations as operationally required. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in lifting operations across all relevant assets. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the largest gas operations in the Southern North Sea, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of lifting operations critical to the organization's success. 
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Location: Norwich
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with travel to onshore sites and offshore installations as operationally required
