Role: SPS Manufacturing & Testing Engineer
Based: Luanda, Africa
Duration: 36 months
Schedule: Residential


The job holder will be responsible for:
  • Deep water SPS equipment fabrication and testing. High level of QA/QC performance objectives.
  • Transverse position with Interfaces from various internal and external entities of the Project.
  • Work with a dynamic environment developing an important project for the affiliate.

Activities:

The position requires knowledge of SPS and UFR subsea deepwater systems. Under the responsibility of the IC SPS Delivery Lead, the Job Holder is responsible for:
  • Work by anticipation. To assess and to identify risks for the activities and manage associated mitigation actions at his/her level.
  • With the spirit of company values, to establish and manage his/her activities motivating his/her counterparts and to work diligently to meet the targets of the projects.
  • Keep all parties (as required) informed regarding ongoing activities status. To advise the Delivery Lead on logistic and services related actions/decisions.

HSE:
  • Promote safety culture within the project and his/her activities. Lead by exemplarity to have the team members and colleagues adhering and contributing. To adopt & demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSEQ rules and requirements.
  • Ensure that safe and ethic working practices are carried out within the activities that he/she is managing or interfacing with. To guarantee the compliance on his activities.
  • Promote observation reporting system and evaluate the HSE practices and skills of the workshop personnel. (Readily report anomalies and malpractices as well as positive observation on site).
  • Supervising  the day-to-day activities and witness the contractor’s / subcontractors’ activities.
  • Ensure that Personnel, Equipment and Material are fit for purpose (i.e:: Training, medical, certification are up to date, etc).

Quality
  • Monitor, instruct, correct and report the working practices of the contractor’s / subcontractors’ as necessary. 
  • Ensure all procedures used are on the correct for the job and have been duly approved and released.
  • Advise contractor on improvement, return on experience and all issues regarding the work site.
  • Ensure all relevant equipment NCR and ICR are raised accordingly and follow up on the closeout actions.
  • Capture and Prepare REX and Lesson Learnt dossiers/presentations. 
  • Report of any equipment failure or damage.

Fabrication 
  • Participate in relevant meetings related to project reporting & progress, fabrication, operation and any other as needed.
  • Ensure all relevant tools and equipment are maintained, calibrated and certified as required.
  • Ensure all activities are properly prepared and documented.
  • Ensure the Tests, Inspections and MRBs are performed in accordance with the planning and release in due time.
  • Manage of workshop to ensure activities and priorities are allocated in accordance with the project planning requirements. 
  • Participate in equipment failure investigations and Contractor’s RCA.
  • Oversee EFAT of FLET/ILT’s at SURF contractor yard.
  • Produce regular internal manufacturing reports with schedule for all deliverables.

Logistics
  • Ensure the SPS contractor equipment inventory is updated in line with the project requirements.
  • Control of all project related activities as well as  supervise any the Third party contracted by Company or Contractor.
Deliverables 
  • All above, the service holder is also accountable for demonstrating, individually, an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSE rules and requirements.
  • Fabrication and testing the SPS equipment.
  • Reporting and KPI Results.
  • Respect & commit to the project planning.
  • Timely delivery.
  • Work in close cooperation with the involved Project packages.
  • Identify and highlight any major AOC to escalate the subject. Do propose solutions for the issues.
  • Develop throughout the project deliverables relating to the management of his activities (e.g.: technical documents, contribution to reports, presentations, memorandum, REX, etc...)

Technical Requirements:

Qualification/Experience Required 
  • Minimum of 10 years in the Oil & Gas Project in SPS manufacturing related matters. 
  • Good knowledge in Oil production sites logistics is required.
  • Strong team spirit, Good interpersonal skills, organization ability,  resourcefulness skills required.
  • Problem solving mindset and solution driven attitude
  • Excellent Communication skills, dynamism, high motivation, “out-of-the-box” thinking and ability to convince.
  • Fluent in English.
