The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Structural Designer for a major Oil & Gas company based in Calgary.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Initiate, complete, and review structural/architectural engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in PDS 3D Modeling (Frameworks), Microstation, Smart Plant Review, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Develop structural/architectural models and drawings from conceptual through detailed design using Microstation.
  • Create 3D structural models using PDS Frameworks.
  • Experience in drafting designs for piperacks, stair towers, equipment modules, pump houses, compressor houses, piling, and foundations.
  • Produce piling layouts and schedules, structural steel layouts and details, concrete layouts and details, and architectural layouts and details.
  • Coordinate design efforts with multiple disciplines and vendor information during the process.
  • Interpret vendor drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, existing steel, and foundation drawings.
  • Produce drawings with minimal technical guidance.
Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma in structural design.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industry and company design standards and codes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team (process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping).
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Ability to meet safety requirements for site visits.
