We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Turnaround Cost Controller to join our team on a contract basis with the potential for permanent employment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and controlling costs for turnarounds across multiple facilities in Alberta, British Columbia, and occasionally the United States. The successful candidate will bring at least 10 years of experience in cost control, preferably in the turnaround or industrial maintenance sector, and will possess a strong knowledge of cost management practices and software tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cost control support during the planning, execution, and close-out phases of turnarounds at various facilities.
- Track and manage all turnaround costs, ensuring that project budgets are adhered to and that cost overruns are promptly addressed.
- Coordinate with project teams to forecast and monitor financials, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, ensuring they are accurate and delivered on time to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure that turnaround projects meet financial objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement corrective actions when necessary to stay within budget.
- Utilize software tools such as Excel, JD Edwards or PIMS, and Primavera P6 to track and report costs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with industry practices, standards, and terminology, particularly those outlined by the AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in cost control, project controls, or financial management, with a focus on turnarounds or industrial maintenance projects.
- Proven experience with Excel, JD Edwards or PIMS, and Primavera P6.
- AACE certification or equivalent is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of AACE practices and terminology.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience working across multiple facilities or project sites is a plus.
- Must be willing to travel to various sites within Alberta, British Columbia, and occasionally the United States.
