Our valued client, Chevron, are looking for a Well Engineer - P&A to join their Perth Office on an initial 12 month contract.
The candidate should be experienced in well plug and abandonment activities with relevant drilling engineering, well intervention and / or completion experience. The role is office based with occasional visits to site as required and will be offered as an initial 12-month contract. Experience in working on land-based projects would be an advantage.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Well Control certification (IADC or IWCF).
- Minimum 10-years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry in a drilling, well intervention or completion engineering role.
- Experienced with well P&A, drilling and / or workover rigs, cementing, slickline and e-line.
- Experience with coiled tubing intervention would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong commitment to Chevron's values of safe, respectful, and inclusive behaviours and Operational Excellence culture.
- Ensure all work is planned and conducted in compliance with Chevron Standards, policies, and procedures, and in compliance with safety case and environmental plan commitments.
- Estimate cost, schedule and risk associated with multi-year P&A program.
- Engage with Business Partners to manage well services contracts.
- Research well history, define P&A procedures and implement with support from wider team.
- Identify industry P&A technology and implement to drive efficiencies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across multi-year P&A program.
- Provide well engineering support for Wells Superintendent, Operations Engineering and field execution teams.
- Ensure accuracy of daily activity reports.
- Maintain accurate records of well abandonment and well monitoring activities.
Successful candidate will need to undertake a site medical to ensure ability to make site visits as required.
